New flats presented to residents of old building in Yasamal District, Baku

Deputy Chairman of State Agency for Control over Construction Safety of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Elkhan Asadov said that the building had been built as a hostel early in 1960 and had been in danger recently. He said the documents in connection with the old building were investigated in the Ministry of Emergency Situations in April, 2007 and the judgment was submitted to the Cabinet.
â€œThe Cabinet submitted the related issue to the Ministry of Emergency Situations. â€œShinkaâ€ Company was commissioned to carry out the constructionâ€, he said.
Elkhan Asadov said that six-storey, 36-flat building had been supplied with hot/cold water and boiler-room. He also said that the flats had been fully repaired.
Resident Mansuma Aliyeva expressed her gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for the rapid solution of the problem. She underlined that the Ministry of Emergency Situations paid special attention to the construction.
Resident Nazakat Zamanova expressed her satisfaction with the high-quality construction and design of the flats.
â€œThe previous building had a common lavatory. These points were taken into consideration in this building, though it is a hostel type. For the first in Azerbaijan repaired flats are handed overâ€, she said.
Following this, the keys of the new flats were presented to the residents.
