Project on decreasing women violence in Azerbaijan signed

Mehriban Aliyeva, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation spoke about the projects on the development of education and science, solution of social problems in Azerbaijan carried out by Foundation. Ms. Aliyeva noted that the role of women in Azerbaijan increases year after year and stressed that there are violation facts against them at present. Ms. Aliyeva stated that violence against women is a violation of human rights and noted that whole world is anxious about this problem. She added that special attention is paid to women and children in Azerbaijani mentality and noted that violence against women is out of ethic norms.
Bruno Pouezat, UNDP Resident Coordinator stressed that the development of economy in Azerbaijan gives opportunity to solve any problem and noted that UN is ready to assist preventing violence against women by technical knowledge and practice./APA/
