Toronto barbecue chef makes 267-kg burger to break Guinness world record

"All I want today is to build the world’s biggest burger and so we try rally to break the record," Reader told Xinhua, adding that he became interested in cooking when he only 16 years old.
On the difference with a normal everyday burger, Reader said: " The size is more than 300 times the burger we eat every day."
He and a 10-member crew started the preparation at 4 a.m. Thursday on the Toronto Dundas square, and the whole process was more than eight hours.
The one-meter-in -diameter burger was fully baked at 1:30 p.m., and was auctioned at the price at 7,500 Canadian dollars (about 7, 500 U.S. dollars). Reader said that he made a test burger earlier this week at his home, and it was successful.
According to the Guinness website, the largest commercially available hamburger is 74.75 kilograms and sells for 399 U.S. dollars in Michigan, United States, as of August 2008. Whatever happens, Reader expects to put his gargantuan burger on his catering menu. "All I did is for fun and the burger helped me to find fun."
