Zonal conference on citizens’ appeals and complaints held in Lankaran

Lankaran. Agheddin Babayev – APA. Department for documents and citizens’ appeals of Azerbaijani President’s Administration held a zonal conference in Lankaran, APA’s south bureau reports. Representatives of executive structures, law-enforcers, chiefs of municipalities of the regions of Lankaran economic zone attended the conference. The conference was devoted to the state of considering the citizens’ appeals and analysis of normative legal acts.

Deputy chief of the common department of the President’s Administration Israfil Gurbanov addressed the conference. He underlined that the state paid much attention to the citizens’ appeals. He said most of the letters and appeals to the President’s Administration had been sent by the residents of the regions of Lankaran economic zone. 6709 appeals were sent from the southern regions in 2007 and 7365 in 2008. The number of appeals sent from Lerik and Jalilabad reduced, while the number of complaints from Astara increased. Gurbanov said the appeals and complaints sent to the Administration mainly concerned the targeted social assistance, land-related problems, activity of law-enforcement bodies. Israfil Gurbanov said officials of local executive offices received 15,382 citizens from 6 regions. The participants also spoke about the positive experience of some regions, application of new methods in considering citizens’ appeals.
