“Junior Eurovision” jury to consist of children this year

Amsterdam. Ulkar Rashidgizi – APA. The rules of the “Junior Eurovision” song contest, to be held on December 1 in the Netherlands, have been changed, said supervisor of the “Junior Eurovision” Sietse Bakker at the press conference of the organizing committee today, APA correspondent reports from Amsterdam. He said that the contest’s jury will be consisted of the children of the 12 participating countries this year: “This jury consists of only children from the participating countries. First these children will vote and the audiences will vote after the counting of their votes. This show will be broadcasted in 13 countries (12 participating countries and Australia).

 

The main innovation this year is that the jury will consist of children and the contest will be broadcasted in Australia. Bakker said that there will be a country-winner hostess competition depends on the budget of the country: “We are currently holding negotiations with several countries, which will host this contest. In the first month of the next year we will announce the country which will be host the “Junior Eurovision-2012”.

 

It was also know at the press conference that Sietse Bakker, who have been supervisor of this contest since 2010 are going to resign: “At the same time, I’m an event supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest. In that sense, I felt that I was left out of the organizing works of the show. We decided to appoint a new head for the “Junios Eurovision” from the next year. Vlad Yakovlev took over the job, he is here today.”

 

Executive director of the Eurovision song contest Jan Ola Sand also attended the press conference.
