-You are the world-known singer. What did lead you to the Eurovision?

-I was requested to participate at the contest. French television requested me and I couldn’t reject it. I listened the song and one of the reasons led me to the contest was that I liked it very much. I told myself that this is my song, so I can bring the other countries to the Paris with this song.

-Did you choose this song yourself? What is this song about?

-No. I didn’t choose it myself. The organizers chose the song. When I listened it for the first time I said that I should sing it at the Eurovision and known I am doing it. The song is about the love. This is very emotional and strong song. A woman says in the song that she is ready to do everything for her love. She is ready to everything to win this love, even to die.

-It is interesting, is Patricia Kaas like that woman?

-I have to think about this question before the answering it. I don’t want to disclose all my feelings, but I am sincere while saying that I found myself in that woman. She is thinking like me. Therefore I loved this song.

- You said at the press conference that you believed in your victory. How can you be confident in that?

-I think real art and music will win this contest. There is no need to see other things. One of the factors to make this decision is that there is a jury in the contest. If there are professionals in jury, the singer who performs a real art will win.

-Your thoughts about the Eurovision are interesting….

- I was watching this contest very early, in 1960-70, but then I didn’t watch. I started to show interest to the contest over the past four-five years because I heard strong voices in the contest in recent years. The contest was organized in a high level this year too. I am enjoying with that the contest takes place in Moscow, but I am intending to win for Paris. France wishes to organize this contest for long years and it should be related just to my name.

-You attended the opening of famous Cartier boutique in Azerbaijan. How do you remember your visit to Azerbaijan?

- It was my first visit to Azerbaijan. I was very surprised during my first visit. Baku and its citizens surprised me. I didn’t think that the Azerbaijani people are so hospitable and pleasant and what I saw there changed my opinion. Indeed I didn’t plan to visit Azerbaijan. Unfortunately I couldn’t see the country in whole because it was unplanned visit. I liked Baku very much despite that I couldn’t walk around it. You have very beautiful city and very nice people are living there. They have great hearts reflected in their faces.

-We heard that you found a friend in Azerbaijan. Is it right?

-Where did you hear it? It is partly right. I found not the friend, but a man of my life in Azerbaijan. He is French, but I met him in Azerbaijan. Therefore my visit to Azerbaijan was a turning point in my life.

-Are you thinking to visit Azerbaijan again?

-Why not. I would like to visit Azerbaijan again, but I want to stay there longer this time to walk around Baku. See you in Azerbaijan….
