Sheikh-ul-Islam of Caucasus Allahshukur Pashazadeh received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Baku, Mujtaba Demirchilu, on August 25, APA reports citing the Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan.
It was noted that during the meeting, the importance of strengthening historical and traditional relations between the states and peoples of Azerbaijan and Iran in all areas, including the religious and spiritual level, was touched upon.
Speaking about the large-scale reconstruction work underway in Karabakh, liberated from occupation, and the revival of Azerbaijan's religious and spiritual heritage that had been subjected to vandalism, Allahshukur Pashazadeh assessed this as an event of pan-Islamic importance and recommended the ambassador to visit those areas.
The ambassador, in turn, assessed Sheikhulislam A. Pashazadeh as an important figure for Azerbaijan and the entire region, an influential leader who represents Azerbaijan at a high level on a global and international level, and expressed gratitude for the reception.
He presented the invitation letter to the Chairman of the CMO for an international conference to be held in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
