Incidents that lead to discrimination against Muslims are often committed by individuals who identify themselves as Muslims. We observe that these feelings of hatred and fear of Islam are being legitimized at the state level, said Abdelmajed Najar, Vice President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars during a panel discussion on Institutionalization of anti-Muslim legislation in Europe. Islamophobic rhetoric against the backdrop of radicalization, APA reports that.

Referring to the example of France, he touched upon the ban on the use of religious symbols by the law adopted in this country:

"However, despite all these events, the number of people converting to Islam is increasing. The media plays a special role in instilling hatred and fear of Islam. Those who do this are carrying out their negative intentions. Moreover, they give it a legal guise. Usually, they present it under the guise of protecting perfection and peace, as well as the rule of law. For example, one of the laws adopted in France prohibits the use of religious symbols. These laws actually target Islam and Muslims. For example, in a number of countries, foreigners are prohibited from working and even from receiving distance education at home. At the same time, Islamist activists are subject to deportation. In the face of all this, a huge burden falls on us. I think we need to have a serious discussion against such negative manifestations. Today, the Islamophobic threat is very high. We can see this especially against the background of what is happening in Gaza."

He emphasized that the purpose of such steps is to further inflame Islamophobia.
