The triptych created by Azerbaijani carpet weavers under the “Heavenly Religions” project was presented at the Vatican, APA reports.
This work of art, which was presented by the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva, during her meeting with Pope Leo XIV, is dedicated to Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, and is the embodiment of deep philosophical thought and the spirit of national craftsmanship.
All three carpets symbolize different religions and cultures, but when combined, they express the common values of humanity - peace, mercy and justice. The project is the embodiment of universal values from the depths of Azerbaijani culture, the strategy of cultural diplomacy.
The triptych is planned to be exhibited both in the Vatican and in various countries of the world. In this regard, the work has a cultural and political meaning in terms of introducing Azerbaijan's multicultural heritage to the world. This shows that the cultural voice of Azerbaijan is heard on a global scale, and that Azerbaijani carpet art carries not only aesthetic but also philosophical value.
