Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO), Sheikh ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, will visit Rome, the capital of Italy, on March 8, the press service of the Caucasus Muslims Office told APA.
It was reported that an iftar dinner will be organized in Rome on March 9 at the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Holy See and the Caucasus Muslims Office.
“At the iftar dinner, which will be attended by the Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office Allahshukur Pashazade and the heads of religious confessions in Azerbaijan, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV will be represented by the Secretary of State of the Holy See, Cardinal Pietro Parolin. The iftar dinner, which will be held at the St. Regis Hotel in Rome and attended by numerous diplomatic missions accredited to the Holy See in Italy, as well as representatives of the state, religion and the public, will be a real contribution by Azerbaijan to interreligious dialogue and cooperation worldwide,” the statement said.
