Legal amendments will be made in connection with the restoration of the Yereavan Qadi, said MP Fazil Mustafa at the meeting of the Council of Elders of the CMO, APA reports.
He noted that the issue will be reviewed by Committee for Public Associations and Religious Institutions of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament): “These documents will be presented to the international community. As the Chairman of Committee for Public Associations and Religious Institutions of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament) we will convey our recommendations and opinions to ensure full alignment of certain issues with legislation. Because these documents will be presented on international platforms, they must comply with relevant conventions and legal norms. At the same time, we must strive for the Yerevan Qadi to be a person who makes Azerbaijan’s voice heard on the international stage. In addition, regarding the matter of return to Western Azerbaijan, we must establish such an influential institution and be in such a position that the ideas voiced from that platform are heard by the international community. We must also strive for a representative of the Western Azerbaijan Community to obtain some form of observer status within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation."
