Hidayat Orujov: I do not believe that several political forces will be able to use religion widely in presidential elections to be held in Azerbaijan

Ongoing processes in modern world shows that religion is widely used for the implementation of political purposes. Efforts were made for involving believers to political processes, to politicization of the religion in Azerbaijan, chairman of State Committee on work with Religious Bodies Hidayat Orujov told APA.
Committee head said that the policy envisaging ensuring religious sectionâ€™s active participation in political processes and using them as potential force is valid in the countries where unity, mutual understanding among various religions and sects does not exist.
He said that Azerbaijan is enough stable country from religious point of view, there is mutual understanding and unity among confessions.
â€œAzerbaijani government takes all necessary measures for strengthening this unity, protection of national-moral values and freedom of conscience of citizens, as well as restoration of historical-religious monuments and their reconstructionâ€, he said.
Mr. Orujov stressing that religious situation in Azerbaijan is stable and normal said that several negative cases exist in this field.
â€œTo our regret, there are radical groups in the country which try to create religious discrimination. These groups which are not accepted unambiguously by Azerbaijani society have no any link with the religion, they only hide under the veil of religion. The last year was also remembered with their neutralization,â€ he said. /APA/
