Two Azeris walk to Hajj

The members of the organization Shahid Gurbanov and Sahib Kazimov have started their marathon by visiting Martyrsâ€™ Avenue and the tomb of the then Azerbaijani President Heydar Aliyev, and praying in Bibiheybat Mosque. Marathon participants told journalists, they will overcome 9.2 km distance by passing Azerbaijan, Iran, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Kuwaiti and visit Kebe house in Mecca.
Marathon runners saying that they will need 9 months for marathon stated that they will pass Azerbaijan-Iran border in 11 days.
Gurbanov stated that marathon consists of 7 phases. He and the other marathon runners will pass to Kebe house through Nagorno Karabakh.
â€œIt does not matter whether Nagorno Karabakh will be released or not till that time we will pass to Mecca through Nagorno Karabakh,â€ he said.
The members of the Union will accompany marathon runners till Azerbaijan-Iran border and Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry solved all the technical issues regarding it. The 1st walk marathon â€œDo not forget Heydar Aliyev, Islamic World and Karabakhâ€ was held on September 1, 2006. Marathon runner, member of the Union Shahid Gurbanov overcame Baku-Mecca road and visited Kebe house. That marathon took 4 months. /APA/
