State Religious Committee holds conference on half-year activity

Chief of the committee Hidayat Orujov making a speech said that they carried out activities to ensure implementation of the state policy in religious sphere, protect principles of freedom of religion, regulate state-religion relations and strengthen traditions of religious tolerance. He said that the process of religious communitiesâ€™ registration was accelerated, the previous appeals were analyzed, and 40 communities were registered. Hidayat Orujov said the committee had received about 200 appeals, but previous leadership did not consider them.
Commenting on import of religious literature Hidayat Orujov said import of 90 books propagandizing religious tolerance and discrimination was prevented. /APA/
