Pilgrim from Binagadi district Ziya Aslanov told APA the visit is promoted by Iraqi Al-Iraq company. Reminding that the Caucasus Muslims Office has not restored organizing pilgrimage to Karbala said Al-Iraq dealt with all documenting works, Iraqi embassy in Baku issued the visas. He said the company had previously promoted pilgrimage to Karbala. The pilgrims are allowed to stay in Iraq for nine days only. “But we intend to end our pilgrimage in 6 days,” he said.
Aslanov added that the pilgrims in buses will be met by Al-Iraq representatives in Mehran city of Iran, and they will pass Iraqi border.
Aslanov added the security of the pilgrims is guaranteed by the company.
“But we would like the Caucasus Muslims Office to restore pilgrimage to Karbala,” he said.
Caucasus Muslims office foreign affairs department chief Mugeddes Payizov told the APA that the company organizing pilgrimage to Kerbela has to be responsible for the security of Azerbaijani pilgrims.
The department chief said that Caucasus Muslims Office last organized pilgrimages to saint places of Iraq in 2002.
Payizov linked it with unstable situation in Iraq and said that the Caucasus Muslims Office will organize pilgrimages only after stability is established in the country. /APA/
