Safar Mehdiyev: Historical heritage smuggled from Afghanistan to Russia can be confiscated

The State Customs Committee can confiscate the historical heritage-weapons found on Russian Anton Shmikov, who was on Kabul-Baku-Moscow flight, deputy chief of State Customs Committee Safar Mehdiyev was quoted by the APA-Economics as saying. Mehdiyev did not rule out sending the mentioned heritage back to Afghanistan through UNESCO.
The officers of the Main State Customs Office found 12 big metal boxes of art and historical goods – 62 rifles, 67 daggers, 24 swords, 259 coins (129 were made in the US in 1796-1922, 127 in China and Indochina in the 19-20th centuries, 1 in France, 1 in England, 1 in India), 1 stringed instrument made of coral, 1 shield, 1 spear, 2 whips made of coral and bronze, 1 horn of a mountain goat made of bronze, having no documents and said to be “private things� on Anton Shmikov on February 14 this year.
Criminal case was launched on the fact on Article 206.2 of the Criminal Code and Anton Shmikov was arrested by court decision on March 5. /APA/
