The meeting planned to be held in Switzerland for the next stage of negotiations on drafting a final agreement between the United States and Iran has been postponed to a later date, APA's Tehran bureau reports.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei told journalists that the necessary consultations through mediators regarding the next stage of the negotiations are continuing.
Baghaei noted that the public will be informed if the necessary conditions are established for the start of negotiations.
He recalled that, according to the text of the agreement, the launch of negotiations on the final agreement depends on the commencement and continuation of the implementation of clauses 1, 4, 5, 10, and 11 of the memorandum.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that one of the main purposes of the meeting planned in Switzerland, which was later canceled, was the signing of the memorandum on ending the war, and that issues related to organizing negotiations on the final agreement were also expected to be discussed within the framework of the signing ceremony.
Baghaei added that since the memorandum was signed digitally in the early morning hours of June 18, holding the planned meeting in Switzerland is no longer an urgent matter.
According to him, preparations are underway for holding a new meeting in the coming days.
