The Media and Broadcasting Council has been established in Azerbaijan, APA reports.
The provision is reflected in President Ilham Aliyev's decree on the implementation of the law "On Amendments to the Laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan 'On Civil Service' and 'On Media'."
Under the decree, the Media and Broadcasting Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan is the legal successor to the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Its rights and obligations, as well as its property, have been transferred to the Council.
According to the decree, the Media and Broadcasting Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan will have a staffing limit of 108 positions.
The decree also approved the structure of the Media and Broadcasting Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In accordance with the decree, the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a public legal entity, has been abolished, and its rights and obligations, as well as its property, have been transferred to the Media and Broadcasting Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
