Baku. Shamil Alibeyli – APA. The view of Iranian side is positive for the opening of Horadiz-Aslanduz customs checkpoint, Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsen Pak Ayeen told APA.
According to him, despite our verbal agreement, from Azerbaijani side Iran didn’t receive any official information on the issue: “When we receive official demand we will follow up. Both sides should agree with the issue, we see the demand from your side so when all the works are over the issue will be put out of the agenda”.
The ambassador added that the checkpoint will be used only for pedestrians, the cars will use Bilasuvar, Astara and Julfa checkpoints.
Horadiz (Azerbaijan) – Aslanduz (Iran) checkpoint has functioned up to the occupation of Fuzuli region by Armenian armed forces in 1993. Though, the checkpoint is expected to be opened late this year, the process still delays.
