Azerbaijan brings to Baku one more diesel locomotive repaired abroad

Baku. Ramiz Miyakiloglu – APA. One more TEM-2 diesel locomotive was overhauled in Latvia and brought to Baku within the State Program on development of railway transport system of Azerbaijan for 2010-2014.

Spokesman for Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Nadir Azmammadov told APA that the overhauled diesel locomotive has been today reviewed at Bilajari locomotive depot.

First Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Alirza Suleymanov said that one of the components of the state program is the purchase of locomotives and major overhaul of existing locomotives to expand locomotive fleet. 11 diesel locomotives have already been repaired and brought to Azerbaijan within the State Program. 5 items of TEM-2 diesel locomotives were sent to Vilnius locomotive repair depot for major overhaul. One of them, TEM-2-7393 (produced in 1983) has already been brought to Azerbaijan and put into operation. Conditioning system, surveillance cameras and refrigerators have been installed in the repaired locomotive.
