“The Ministry has once appealed to the Tariff Council regarding this. But the Council rejected our proposal. We have not appealed for increasing the public transport fares for the second time,” he said.
Namig Hasanov said entrepreneurs say operation costs have increased and therefore, offer to increase the fares.
“They want the fares to be raised. Reports have recently spread about it. Even the Minister of Finance has noted this in one of his speeches. Generally, there are some grounds to raise the fares. But it is up to the Tariff Council to decide on it,” he said.
