To him, at present, negotiations are underway with the Azerbaijani side in this direction: ‘As you know, from February 12, Ukraine International Airlines will start Kiev-Baku flights. Before us, this flight was operated by Ukraine’s Aerosvit airlines. In line with this, Aerosvit used to realize seasonal or regular flights to Baku from other big cities of Ukraine. Currently, we consider resumption opportunities of the mentioned network of Aerosvit’.
Miroshnikov also added that Ukraine International Airlines intends to operate flights to other big cities of Azerbaijan, too: ‘Firstly, our company plans to launch Kiev-Ganja flight. But I can’t say anything about the exact time of launch of the mentioned flight’.
Note that, formerly Kiev-Baku-Kiev flight was operated by Ukraine’s Aerosvit. But late December, the company addressed to the Kiev region Economic Court with a bankruptcy petition. The judgment states that, as of December 27, 2012 the company has a debt to the creditors in the amount of 537.5 million U.S. dollars, the gross book value of assets makes 184.6 million U.S. dollars. Kiev region Economic Court has sued bankruptcy case on December 29. In January, Aerosvit suspended all flights on Kiev-Baku-Kiev route.
