Total of 2,720 large- and medium-sized modern passenger buses brought to Azerbaijan in last five

Baku – APA-Economics. In order to improve the quality of public transport, an international bus terminal meeting modern standards has been built in Baku. New bus stations have been built in 14 district centers. Existing bus stations have been renovated and commissioned in seven other district centers. A total of 2,720 large- and medium-sized modern passenger buses have been brought to Azerbaijan in the last five years in an effort to improve the quality of inter-city, intra-urban, and international passenger transport, ensuring safety and reducing traffic congestion. A total of 400 out of 750 transport vehicles for inter-city bus services, 2,100 out of 3,000 vehicles for intra-urban services in Baku, 20 out of 90 transport vehicles for inter-city bus services, 100 out of 400 transport vehicles for intra-urban services in Ganja, 20 out of 90 transport vehicles for inter-city bus services, and 80 out of 650 vehicles required for intra-urban services in Sumgait have been replaced. In order to improve the quality of the taxi service in Baku, 543 London taxis and other cabs have been purchased. The number of London taxis is expected to increase to 3,000. A total of 65 taxi stands have been established throughout the capital. Measures have also been taken to improve the quality of the bus service in Baku, such as the establishment of 617 new bus stops. An intelligent transport management center has been built and commissioned in the city of Baku.
