According to APA-Economics, during the visit the sides have finalized the agreement and final protocol. In accordance with the loan agreement, the Saudi Fund for Development will provide $ 35 million to Azerbaijan for the project.
Reconstruction of water supply and sewerage of Khirdalan will begin in the second half of 2013.
The project will create a water supply system with a total length of 159 km. Drinking water in the city will be supplied from Jeyranbatan treatment plant. Water will flow into the three new reservoirs (‘+82 Masazir’, "+120 Masazir’ and ‘+118 Absheron’) with a capacity of 20 thousand cubic meters each, and then in the mode of course - to the city line.
Construction of sewerage network in Khirdalan will begin after the commissioning of the new sewer. Note that, at present municipal wastewater of Khirdalan city is sent to Govsan aeration station for treatment. In future, it will be delivered to the treatment plant with capacity of 200 cubic meters per day, which is under construction near Lokbatan settlement. Construction works are scheduled for completion in late 2014. With the realization of the project, over 100 thousand residents of Khirdalan will use the improved water supply and sanitation services.
