MCIT holds meeting with Austrian delegation

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies (MCIT) held a meeting with an Austrian delegation led by Andreas Reinhard, Deputy Federal Minister of Transport, Innovation and Technology, Aztelekom reported.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Elmir Valizadeh informed the guests about the measures implemented in the country in the sector of information and communication technologies under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.

Stressing announcement of 2013 as an ICT year, the Deputy Minister noted that several important decisions on ICT development were passed, and several – will be passed recently.

In turn, Andreas Reinhard said that the existing relations between the two countries would continue to rapidly expand against the background of dynamic development of ICT sector.

The guest emphasized the importance of creating favorable conditions for the development of closer links in IT sector and implementation of the planned joint projects. The event participants exchanged views on a number of issues.

He also spoke about bringing of new technologies to Azerbaijan. According to him, they are interested in building of E-government, preparing of personnel on E-government, e-health, e-notary, e-address and registry services in real estate sphere, e-security, communication and other spheres. Azerbaijan and Austria have already implemented successful projects in different spheres: “But our main goal is to bring “know-how” and new technologies. That’s why, I think that construction of robbery-cable production in Azerbaijan is the greatest step taken for bringing of new technologies to Azerbaijan”.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan, government agencies and local IT companies. Austria at the event was represented by employees of the Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology and representatives from Austrian companies.
