Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. In January 2013, 1.1 mln tonnes of cargo were transported via sea transport, down 11% from 2012.
State Statistical Committee says 60.8% of cargo was oil, 39.2% - dry cargo and all transportation were carried out on foreign connections: “In the reporting period, 1.2 mln tones of shipping and unshipping works were carried out, up 1.6% compared with a year earlier. International transit cargo rose 3.5%.”
As of February 1, 2013, 5.500 tonnes of cargo were remained at the ports to be sent, down 50% from year earlier.
At the same time, 1.100 passengers were transported via sea transport, up 10% compared with a year ago.
