Baku. Nicat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. In January, 2013, cargo and passenger transportation via railway transport decreased compared to last year.
State Statistical Committee says cargo transportation made 1.9 mln tonnes during the reporting period (-2.8%). On average 690 wagons were entrained, 477 wagons – detrained per day.
28,300 tonnes of cargo were entrained on the North direction, 5,400 tonnes – on West direction and 4,600 tonnes – on South directions.
Besides, 199,000 passengers were carried during the same period, down 22.8% from a year earlier.
