Baku to host CATEF-2013 exhibition-forum tomorrow

CATEF 2013 is the only event in the Caspian region dedicated to showcasing achievements in water technology. It is organized on the initiative of and supported by Azersu JSC. The organizational partner is Iteca Caspian LLC, APA-Economics reports.

During todasy’s press conference dedicated to the exhibition, project manager Reshad Gedimov said that importance of the exhibition and forum for water technologies led to large-scale projects that are underway or planned in Azerbaijan, the broad prospects of implementation and use of the latest equipment and technology in enterprises in Azerbaijan, and the growing interest of investors in the region. Currently project on improvement of water supply and sanitation in cities and regional centers, villages and townships projects ultra-treatment facilities in Jeyranbatan reservoir, sewage and rainwater, etc. are realized in Azerbaijan.

79 companies from 23 countries will offer their services in the following areas: water supply, wastewater and storm water, micro tunneling, measuring and control technologies for analysis of water, pumps, pumping systems, protection of drinking water sources, construction machinery and equipment, drilling rigs, information and communication technology, geothermal technology, seawater desalination technology and other products, technologies and services.

Over 50% of participants are foreign companies, including Awas (Germany), DOW (USA), Duktus (Austria), Ekoton (Russia), Grundfos (Denmark), Herrenknecht AG (Germany), Hyundai (South Korea), Hungarian Water Cluster (Hungary), Krohne (Germany), Nippon Koei (Japan), Nordic Water-EMO (Switzerland), PWT (Germany), Samsun Makina (Turkish), Suez Environment (France), Xylem (Sweden) and others. Local stakeholders are companies Akkord Azerbaijan, Sumgait Technology Park and others.

In parallel with the exhibition, a forum on new technology and equipments on water extraction and treatment will be held at the Marriott Hotel. Forum covers topics: innovative technologies for potable water, ecological and innovative technology of sewage and storm water, the scope of utilization products; rapid assessment methods and comparative analysis of water sources, innovative management techniques in water, wastewater and storm water, drainage of wetlands technology and artificial reservoirs, creating environmentally healthy zones. Over 200 delegates, including representatives of government, industry and housing and communal services, national experts, executives and environmentalists large industrial enterprises, representatives of supplier of eco-technologies and eco-services, industry research and project institutions, associations and non-governmental organizations, have been accredited in the International Forum.
