Azerbaijani delegation participating in World Summit on the Information Society

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Forum on implementation of the decisions of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) began its work in Geneva (Switzerland). Azerbaijan is represented at the event by the delegation led by Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Elmir Velizadeh, APA-Economics reports.

Elmir Velizadeh made a speech at the opening ceremony. He spoke about state policy, achievements, projects implemented in the ICT sphere of Azerbaijan. Touching upon launching of first satellite of Azerbaijan into orbit, Deputy Minister noted that besides Azerbaijan, countries of Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa would also benefit from this the satellite.

Moreover, Velizadeh informed the participants about TASIM project.

A special seminar devoted to TASIM project is planned to hold within the framework of the summit.
