Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. In 2012, cargo transportation made 210.6 mln tonnes in Azerbaijan, up 3.5% from year earlier.
State Statistical Committee says non-oil cargos rose 7.5%. 56.1% of cargos was transported by cars, 27.1% - by pipelines, 10.9% - railways, 5.9% - by sea transport.
Within past 5 years, the cargo transportation rose 4.7% per year, as well as 7.7% - in motor transport, 1.6% - oil pipelines.
Cargo transportation in non-state sector soared 3.9%.
1.6 bln persons were rendered services during the year, up 8.4% compared with the previous year. 87.6% of passengers used vehicles, 12.1% - metro.
