Baku. Shamil Alibayli – APA. Netherlands is interested in cooperation and exchange of experience with Azerbaijan on road safety and development of road infrastructure, said Ambassador of the Netherlands Kingdom to Azerbaijan Arien Uiterlind.

According to him, with ministry of transport of Azerbaijan, Netherlands will hold joint seminar in Baku on road safety: “This is an area where we see an achievement in improvement of infrastructure. At the same time the number of accidents is still a challenge and we would like to share our experience and bring this knowledge to Azerbaijan at the seminar in April. So this is the project we are working right now. I understand that Azerbaijan is developing its strategy to cope with this problem and we can meet them because Netherlands is the country with lowest lever of casualties in transports. So I think this exchange of experience in itself is valuable. We have state body in Netherlands with experts related to mobility and road safety, and they will deliver some key speeches at the seminar. If we speak about transport safety there are three aspects. First aspect is infrastructure, improving roads, lighting, improving safety measures. The second aspect is education, and the third part is enforcements”.
