Baku. Ali Ahmadov – APA-Economics. Some time after the launch of Mobile Devices Registration System (MDRS), operation of even “cloned” phones will be allowed in Azerbaijan. Note that, phone cloning is the transfer of identity from one cellular device to another, APA-Economics reports.
Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan Iltimas Mammadov says that such phones will be able to work only by a number used until May 1. The service will be suspended to this phone when a subscriber changes the number: ‘The reason is that, those phones are not original’.
Mammadov underlined that thanks to the taken measures, after a couple of years all the phones at shops will be original, because use of unoriginal phones will be banned in the country. In contrast to the neighboring countries, the process of entering the MDRS will be free-of-charge in Azerbaijan.
The new rules will concern not only mobile phones, but also the all devices that can work with SIM card, including the tablets.
