Next year, the Georgian government plans to borrow 3.4 billion lari in foreign credits, APA’s local bureau reports.
This was stated in Georgia’s draft budget for 2026.
2 billion lari of the amount will be funds attracted from international financial institutions for financing specific projects. Next year, the Georgian government will take the most credit from the Asian Development Bank.
The list of credit programs for 2026 also includes the construction of the Tbilisi-Red Bridge (border with Azerbaijan) highway. For the construction of this road, it is planned to attract a loan of 48.3 million lari (17.8 million USD) from the European Investment Bank.
