In order to increase the participation of women drivers in public transport, the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) has launched a new training program. Within the framework of the program, candidates undergo both theoretical and practical training to begin professional activity as bus drivers, AYNA told APA-Economics.
According to the information, the training covers not only driving skills but also ethical behavior, communication culture, and safety topics. Special emphasis is placed on proper conduct with persons with disabilities. The goal is to prepare women drivers who ensure road safety, interact with passengers correctly and politely, and demonstrate professionalism in crisis situations.
During the training period, participants are involved in practical exercises on observation techniques, maneuvering, and the rules of stopping and parking. The main part of the training consists of driving in complex road conditions, front and rear parking, slalom movements, correct selection of turning trajectories, and maintaining a safe following distance. At the same time, drivers acquire essential skills to minimize accident risks in various road conditions.
At the end of the training, participants undergo independent driving tests on specially designed routes. At this stage, both their theoretical knowledge and practical skills are evaluated in a comprehensive manner.
