American Bureau of Shipping licensed in Azerbaijan

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents has licensed the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) to operate as a certification body in the country.
The Committee said the American Bureau of Shipping was granted Certificate AZ 031.01.30.0003.08.
ABS is a classification society, with a mission to promote the security of life, property and the natural environment, primarily through the development and verification of standards for the design, construction and operational maintenance of marine-related facilities. ABS was first chartered in the state of New York in 1862, to certify ship captains.
