Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev – APA-Economics. In January-September, 2012, 2.020 mln passengers were transported via railway transport in Azerbaijan, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways JSC Arif Asgarov said, APA reports.
To him, passenger transportation on road made 2.079 bln people, as well as direct contact – 225.7 thousand people, local contact – 999.5 thousand people. Total passenger turnover made 449.7 mln/km, density dropped 10.1% to 18.6 prsons.
Asgarov said that during the reporting period, turnover of cargo train made 4.8 days: ‘Freight train speed was 25.3 km / h (this figure was 26.9 km / hour last year), freight train efficiency - 4 376 tons km / net, locomotive productivity - 622.3 thousand tons of km /brutto’.
