Azerbaijan to start implementation of project on broadband internet development in the regions

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Azerbaijani Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies will start implementation of project on broadband internet development in the regions, said the Deputy Minister of Communication and Informatin Technologies Almir Valizadeh.
He says 65% of population are internet users, of which 30% use broadband internet. Approximately half of broadband internet users are in the regions. More than 35% of villages were supplied with fiberoptic cables.
“We’ll start implementation of project on broadband internet development fro next year. In general, more than 10 internet providers operate in the regionsâ€.
