Azerbaijan sees 4% growth in cargo transportation via sea transport

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. In January-August, the cargo transported via sea transport rose 3.9% to 8.5 mln tons.
State Statistical Committee says 60.9% of cargo was oil cargo, 39.1% - dry cargo. All transportations were carried out on foreign connections: “8.1 mln tons of shipping and unshipping works carried out sea ports and 1%-growth was recorded. International transit cargos made 3%â€.
As of September 1, the rest of cargos for sending made 60,500 tons in the ports, up 46.1% from year earlier.
Along with this, 11,400 passengers were transported via se atransport, down 13% in comparison to a year earlier.
