Azerbaijan is ready to participate in the UN international ICT projects as investor

Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. Azerbaijani MIniste of Communication and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov has met with UN resident coordinator in Azerbaijan Fikrat Akchura. Ministry’s press service says, the UN official assessed the Azerbaijan’s leadership among CIS countries in the annual report of “Global Information Technologies” of World Economic Forum.

Akchura noted, the UN presence in the future development of ICT in Azerbaijan, as well implementation of joint projects would be provided.

He also added, the 7th Internet Management Forum, to be held in November, Baku, would contribute to achievements and the forum would chance for representation of foreign countries, business structures, international and NGOs to meet with Azerbaijan’s achievements and successes.

Approaching to future development strategy AKchura says it’s possible implementation of joint projects with the UN in building of e-government. Within the existing projects, speaking about Dilmanc translation program, the UN official stressed, this project would lay the foundation of translation program for Turkic speaking countries.

In turn, Abasov expressed satisfaction with the results of joint projects implemented between the UN and Azerbaijan, as well MCIT and noted, just these projects supported to realize relevant reforms, enrichment of infrastructure, increase of human sources. In general, he noted, Azerbaijani side interested in implementation of joint projects with the UN, in the future.

He also said, Azerbaijan was ready to participate in the implementation of joint projects as an investor.
