President of Azerbaijan attends opening of Shabran ring road on Baku-Gubaâ€“Russia state border highway

According to APA, Minister of Transport Ziya Mammadov informed the Head of State that the four-line bridge was 540 meters in length, 23 meters in width and 18 meters in height.
There is 1.5-m side-walk for pedestrians on both sides of the bridge. 23 lighting pillars were installed on the bridge.

It has two defensive barriers for security of the transport means. The bridge was constructed on three-storey piers and there are sixteen 32-m bridge spans there.

The bridge has been provided with 8-9 seismic resistance. There is a concrete fence regulating system to prevent floods.

The bridge area was considered as a landslide-dangerous territory. 4-million cubic meters of ground work has been done there. Three 500-cubic meters of water reservoirs, which supplied water to Shabran, were removed and constructed in more secure place. A gas-regulating station was also moved into other place. After all of these works, a modern road and bridge complex were constructed there.

President Aliyev cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the bridge and appreciated the work done there.
