Baku hosts Azerbaijan-Korea international workshop

Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Elmir Valizadeh told journalists that future cooperation between the two countries will be discussed at the two-day workshop.
According to Elmir Valizadeh, Azerbaijan and Korea cooperate in the field of education, in qualifying ICT personnel, doing scientific studies in the field of high technologies.
“We made use of Korea’s experience in the implementation of a number of projects, including post, transportation. Korea has offered support for the project on Transnational Eurasian Information Super Highway and confirmed the appropriate declaration,†he said.
President of Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology Nam Pyo Suh welcomed the participants via Internet, said the conference would have positive influence on the prospects of cooperation and gave information about the institute.
Korean ambassador to Azerbaijan Chi Ha Lee spoke about the joint projects. Ambassador noted that $22 million had been allocated for Azerbaijani specialists within the framework of the training program.
