Azerfon announces the launch of Summer Internship program for students

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev - APA-Economics. On July 01, 2010 Azerfon announced the start of â€œYour talents, our opportunitiesâ€ - Summer Internship Program for undergraduate and graduate students of Azerbaijan.

Speaking during the meeting with interns, Executive Board Member of Azerfon LLC Mr. Cuneyt Turktan stressed the importance of supporting youth development. â€œWe support the talented youth by providing them with career opportunities, and this is one of the priorities of Azerfonâ€™s corporate social responsibility policy. Our company is interested in building local ICT professionals and that is why we are offering students this opportunity for hands-on experience. â€œYour talents, our opportunitiesâ€ program enables the students to apply the knowledge they gained at universities in practice, to learn more about their specializations, and in case of successful completion of their internship to obtain a full-time employment with Azerfonâ€ â€“ said Mr.Turktan.

Recruitment for â€œYour talents, our opportunitiesâ€ program was held among undergraduate and graduate students of technical and economic faculties of Baku State University, Azerbaijan State Oil Academy, Azerbaijan Technical University, Azerbaijan State Economic University, â€œCaucasusâ€ University and â€œKhazarâ€ University. The recruitment consisted of resume collection, candidate evaluation and selection stages, lasting from December, 2009 till June, 2010. For initial selection purposes, 200 students went through a testing process and 34 candidates made it to the next stage, to participate in interviews.

According to the results of the selection, eight students will practice internship in Customer Relations, IT, Network Operations and Network Engineering & Development Departments during summer holidays. Upon successful completion of the program, interns, who will have successfully completed the program, will be offered full-time positions with Azerfon.
