Azerbaijan to form e-government

Baku. Aynur Veliyeva â€“ APA-Economics. The Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan held a meeting dedicated to the implementation of the Action Program on formation of e-government approved by the Cabinet of Ministers for 2010-2011. The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology is a coordinator of the Action Program, spokesman for the ministry Mushfig Amirov told APA-Economics.

Deputy Minister of Communication and Information Technology Elmir Velizadeh informed the participants about the Action Program and said it had great importance for the development of information and communication technologies in Azerbaijan. The e-government will increase usefulness of the government agencies, transparency in the relations between the citizens and the government organizations and will prevent bureaucracy and corruption. It will play an important role in creation of useful conditions for the Azerbaijani citizens. The government officials discussed the mutual relations between the government agencies, mechanisms of implementation of the Action Program, its normative-legal basis, ICT in the government administration, formation of the basic components of the e-government institutions, implementation and development of the e-services in the public sector, improvement of the ICT expertsâ€™ skills, e-government security and decline of digital arrears in the country.
The government officials decided to establish Coordination Council for coordinating of the measures considered by the Action Program.
