Azerbaijan signs contract with producer of national satellite

According to APA-Economics, the contract was signed by Jalil Jafarov, Director of International Relations and Accounting Center, Ministry of Communications and INFORMATION Technologies and Executive Vice President of Orbital Sciences Corporation Company Michael Larkin.
Note that, Azerbaijan is planning to launch its geostationary cosmic telecommunication satellite in 2012. Total amount of this project is $ 160 mln.
Azerbaijan wants the satellite to cover European Countries (except Scandinavian Countries), large part of Kazakhstan and half of Asia. The satellite will have transmission with teleradio and internet.
US Silk Sat program supports the launch of satellite.
