Azerbaijan International Construction Exhibition to kick off tomorrow
Iteca Caspian deputy director Bahruz Hidayatzade told a press conference that the number of registered participants has increased by 5% this year despite the global financial crisis. He added all the exhibition spaces have been sold out.
Exhibition manager Yana Sapunova added that over 270 companies from 27 countries, including Turkey, Iran, Russia, Belarus, Lithuania, Germany, Switzerland, Greece and other countries have registered for the exhibition.
Local firms like Akkord, Garadagh Cement, Metanət-A and others will also showcase their products.
The exhibition will coincide with the 7th Caspian International Furniture, Interiors and Design Exhibition.
Elxan Asaov, construction supervision officer of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, spoke about the growth in construction industry.
This is a special date for the exhibition, as this year BakuBuild celebrates 15th anniversary. During this time, the exhibition has grown significantly and become bigger, in terms of area, than Caspian Oil and Gas, the largest project in the Caspian region. Over the 15 years, more than 1600 companies from 30 countries have taken part in BakuBuild. Throughout this time, BakuBuild has been an important event for construction industry specialists and a platform for meetings, presentations and networking.
Despite the global financial crisis, which has seriously affected the world’s construction industry, the exhibition continues to operate effectively and this year will bring together more than 300 companies from 27 countries. Companies from Saudi Arabia and Romania will take part in the event this year for the first time. About 30% of participants are companies which are entering the market for the first time. Nation stands include Germany, Belarus, Iran and Lithuania. BakuBuild will demonstrate a wide assortment of sanitary ware and construction equipment. More than 400m² of exhibition space will be allocated to decoration materials, where visitors will be able to see the latest ceramics, facing stone, floor and wall coverings, wallpaper, paints and so on.
The exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Chamber of Industry and Trade, Azerbaijan Architects Association, Azerbaijan Town-building and Architecture Committee, Azerbaijan Confederation of Entrepreneurs, and TUSIAB
