Azerbaijani President participates in launching ceremony of Shusha tanker

Baku – APA. Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev participated in the launching ceremony of Shusha tanker on October 14, APA reports. President acquainted himself with the service and quarters of the tanker. The head of state was told that Shusha tanker was constructed in Krasnoye Sormovo shipbuilding facility in Nijni Novgorod, Russia. It was noted that the tanker will be mainly used to transport Kazakhstan’s oil to Sengechal terminal through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline named after Heydar Aliyev.

Azerbaijan State Caspian Shipping Company informs that in about 1/5 month the vessel will arrive in port of registry – Baku. Shusha has length of 150 m with tonnage of 13,000 tons, double ship hull and conforms to IMO standards. It is able to carry two types of petroleum products. Azerbaijan State Caspian Shipping Company composes 80 vessels, including 42 tankers and 37 dry-cargo ships.
