The trial date for individuals charged with espionage in France has been set, APA reports.
The case will be heard in the Baku Court on Grave Crimes under the chairmanship of Judge Elmin Rustamov.
The preparatory meeting for the case is scheduled for December 29.
Note that earlier, the preliminary investigation on Martin Ryan, who was arrested on charges of espionage for France, in the criminal case conducted by the State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan has been completed.
The case has been forwarded to the Baku Court on Grave Crimes for trial, where Judge Elmin Rustamovwill preside.
Note that Martin Ryan and others were arrested on December 4, 2023. Martin Ryan, the general director of Merkorama LLC, has been charged with espionage. According to the charge, Martin Ryan was used as an agent-spy by employees of the French DGES (Directorate-General for External Security), who recruited him for secret cooperation and later declared him “persona non-grata” and expelled from Baku.
It has become known that, along with Martin Ryan, Azad Mammadli, a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, will be tried on charges of treason in the same criminal case.
As is known, Bernard Emier, the head of the French Directorate-General for External Security (DGES), was dismissed from his post on December 20, 2023, following the exposure of a large spy network and service failures.
