Three external factors led to the plane crash, Ilham Amirov, Vice President of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), said at the farewell ceremony at the airport, APA reports.
He noted that the black box has already been opened and is being read.
“Preliminary information shows that our aircraft was subjected to illegal external influences. Unfortunately, when the crew sent a signal for landing, both Makhachkala and Grozny airports refused to accept the plane. The crew managed to control the aircraft, which had become uncontrollable and landed it. This is a result of our pilots' high qualifications,” Ilham Amirov said.
He further added that the causes of the crash will be investigated and the public will be informed accordingly.
