"The version of a gas cylinder exploding in the cabin of the aircraft is absurd and false," Zulfugar Asadov, a cabin crew member who survived the plane crash, told APA.
He noted that if anything, even an oxygen cylinder, had exploded in the cabin, the plane would have fallen apart immediately.
"It is impossible to bring a gas cylinder into the aircraft cabin. All baggage, including hand luggage, is checked at the airport," he added.
Zulfugar Asadov mentioned that the aircraft was affected from the outside, and something struck the plane, with a foreign object entering the cabin and injuring his arm.
Note that some information resources in Russia and other countries have voiced versions about the explosion of a gas cylinder in the cabin of the crashed AZAL aircraft.
On December 25, an Embraer 190 aircraft operated by Azerbaijan Airlines, flight J2-8243 on the Baku-Grozny route, diverted towards the city of Aktau due to the necessity of an emergency landing and crashed near Aktau. The plane carried 67 people, including 5 crew members and 62 passengers.
