Brother of Mahmud Ibayev, a fisherman who was reported missing in Lankaran and a resident of Siyavar village in Lankaran region, has gone to Iran to bring his body back to the country, APA's southern bureau reports.
Mahmud Ibayev's body was discovered by fishermen in Iran and shared on social networks.
Mahmud Ibayev's brother, Rashad Ibayev, recognized his brother's body from the photo.
With the support of relevant agencies, Rashad Ibayev is on the Iranian side and met with Said Hadiani, the person who found his brother's body. Said Hadiani said that he found the body in the city of Bandar-Anzali, on the banks of the Kapurchay River: "The body was 25 meters deep. His head was in the water. His face was blackened, but his body was intact. We put him in a boat, brought him out, and informed the police. I should also say that these areas are always under surveillance by boats."
It should be noted that the body is scheduled to be transferred to the Azerbaijani side tomorrow.
